I bought the album for the cover

“The Grand Illusion” album was released July 7, 1977.  The 7th album from Styx, it went triple platinum, and was the first of four albums in a row to do that…”Pieces Of Eight” in 1978, “Cornerstone” in ’79, and “Paradise Theater” in 1981.  Before I really heard any of the songs on the album, I saw the cover and had to have it. I have to say my favorite song on the album is Fooling Yourself written by Tommy Shaw, and to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the release of the album, Tommy teamed up with The Contemporary Youth Orchestra in Cleveland for a quarantine version of the song.  The story can be found here, and the video below.  I have to say, it’s a fantastic rendition of the song!
