Journey, the early years

At Journey’s performance in Austin Texas this past Wednesday, fans got quite a treat! Original lead singer and keyboardist Greg Rolie joined the group for a long set of Journey classics from the early years of the group, making the encore extra special. Rolie sang lead or co-lead on a number of Journey songs from the albums Infinity, Evolution, and Departure. And Journey spawned in-part out of the group Santana…Rolie and Neil Schon early members, and fans got another treat as they did the classic “Black Magic Woman” originally sang by Rolie in the Santana era! Toto’s Steve Lukather also joined in on guitar. Here are a few video’s from the show in Austin. Doubt we’ll get to see this line-up when Journey plays Extra Mile Arena in April…but what a great surprise to see him back with the guys for at least this one show…and we can always hope! ~ Ron O’
