I have always been a fan of Science Fiction, and Orson Wells radio version of HG Wells War Of The Worlds is high on my list of favorites, as is the 1953 film version.  Yes, I saw the 2005 version with Tom Cruise, and I liked it for what is was….but to me it wasn’t War Of The Worlds.  So when I saw the trailer for the miniseries BBC1 is doing, I was thrilled!  It is more true the HG Wells book (yes, I have read it), but with some artistic licence.  The trailer has me hoping I can somehow see the show!  Oh, and for the record, yes, I do have Jeff  Wayne’s musical version!
