“Cold-Blooded Treachery At Last Conquers Jesse James”

On April 3, 1882, Robert Ford shot and killed Jesse James, after Jesse turned his back on him to wipe some dust form a picture.  Robert’s is an interesting story, but really, the only reason I am mentioning it is for this song.  On the 1975 Elton John album Rock Of The Westies, there is the much under rated track (number 5 I believe-I had the cassette not vinyl),  I Feel Like A Bullet (In The Gun Of Robert Ford).  Pure Bernie Taupin/Elton John magic, and if you have never heard it, or it’s been a while since you have, take a listen. Sure maybe it’s  more of an “Easy Listening” song, but it’s still a perfect example of how a song writing team can create great music.
