I’ve lived here now for almost 13 years, and man have I seen things change! Of course if you’ve lived here for all or most of your life, the Treasure Valley pretty much looks like a different planet, right!? In talking to people over the years (and having some of my family even move here), I always said if we were to get a big company to make their move here, or just a big expansion…we could see some huge growth (even more than what we’re currently seeing). Last year, Boise was the fastest growing city in the U.S. as the population increased 3% but did you know that in the 70’s and again in the 90’s, Boise’s population grew by over 4.5%!? Some people like the growth (there are benefits), and others are NOT fond with what’s happening in not just Boise, but the valley in general. Well, depending on where you stand…this new “tease” of news could possibly make you one happy camper, or really PO’d! The same developer that has built AMAZON distribution centers around the US and the world, has applied for a “conditional use permit” for an 850,000 sq ft building in NAMPA!
Now, the city can’t actually come out and state “who” the “company” might be that would own the building, but it’s pretty obvious that it would be AMAZON, when you simply look at the info from the permit application. To read the full scoop, click HERE, courtesy of the Idaho Press. And if this does come to fruition in the come few years…WOW, the face of the Treasure Valley will truly be changed! – Ron
